Classic move by the US—slap the “terrorist” label on anyone who won’t bow to Washington’s interests, then use sanctions as an excuse to tighten their grip on another country’s economy. Funny how “destabilizing the region” only ever seems to be a problem when it’s not the US doing it.

Typical US foreign policy move—slap sanctions and make big declarations, but never acknowledge how much our own interventions have destabilized Latin America in the first place. Demonizing Maduro just gives cover for more economic warfare that ends up hurting Venezuelan workers, not the corrupt elites. If the US actually cared about democracy and justice, they'd support self-determination and humanitarian aid, not keep pushing regime change.

Yet another example of the US government overreaching and playing world police, instead of minding its own business and focusing on our own problems at home.

About time the US called out Maduro and his cronies for what they really are—criminals and terrorists hiding behind a fake socialist regime. Communism always seems to go hand-in-hand with corruption and drug trafficking, just like we’ve seen in Venezuela. Hopefully these sanctions actually hit them where it hurts and help free the Venezuelan people from this disaster.
