Israeli forces intercepted and boarded the Handala, a Gaza-bound aid ship carrying humanitarian supplies and international activists, in international waters. The vessel, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, aimed to break Israel's blockade of Gaza and deliver much-needed aid, but was seized and towed to Israel, with 21 activists and journalists detained. Among those detained was US labor activist Chris Smalls, who was reportedly assaulted by Israeli forces, sparking condemnation from human rights groups.
